Who is Miss Polkadot?

I’m Rachel and I’m 21 from north east england. I’m currently at college studying English and Media, where I will then hopefully go on to uni to study fashion journalism. I’m a doctor who geek and a lover of cheesy music but I’m only growing up.

At the start of 2010 I was proud to become a contributing intern for British Style Bloggers helping to run their Body Image Season. I have since been promoted to Deputy Editor and I love the opportunities it has provided me with.

I’ve always had an interest in style and quirky little pieces so this blog will highlight some of these; plus give you an insight into my opinions in fashion and what I’m wearing. I will always stay true to who i am. I believe every girl is beautiful no matter what; anyone who insults another for their looks becomes uglier in my eyes.

I was given The Evening Chronicle’s Undergraduate Young Achiever Award 2010 in December 2010. It is my dream to work in Fashion and/ or body activism. I know that I was given my voice to raise awareness for the things I believe in.

I have previously written pieces for other publications on music, body image, current affairs, fashion, trends and my city. And I’m always looking to expand my comfort zone.
