I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date

I’ve been in need of a White rabbit pocket watch style necklace for god knows how long. And I’m sure if you’re on twitter you may have heard the story of my newest purchases already. But this time there are pictures

This gorgeous Watch/ necklace was £13 from River Island

Unfortunately I encountered a wee problem with it

It only ticked when you held in the winder to open the watch. I have a feeling that it was made like this too.

However it is still gorgeous, so I will be keeping it. I also have a shock for you all, guess what I now own?

That’s right, I now own jeans!

Ok so they’re skinny jeans but jeans nonetheless.

I had a bit of a traumatic moment in Primark when my card was declined due to lack of funds, but luckily Mammy dearest was on hand to pay up

So how do you get from Marilyn to Angelina and even further? Find out HERE

Marilyn- the visit series

It seems there have been more never before seen pictures of one of my icons unearthed and now on sale

Taken just eight months before Marilyn’s tragic death, this is the meeting of two american icons Marilyn at the time was 35 and Carl Sandburg the three time pullitzer award winning poet was 83.

Marilyn showed up three hours late to the photographer Len Steckler’s NYC apartment, her excuse being that she had been trying to get her hair dyed to match Carl’s.

Although Marilyn was no longer as hotly sought after as she once was by this point, there’s no denying that she was still captivating and nothing short of gorgeous.

You can view the full collection HERE, and each image is available for a mere 1,999 dollars.

My Radical Self Love bible

Our homework this weekend, set by Gala, was to get our hands on a notebook and write a first page. This would be our bible for the next month. On the first page I wrote

“I pledge not to change a thing about myself this month as I’m finally happy with how I look and act.

Instead I want to treat myself and enhance the best things about me.

Manicures that last two days, blogging about anything I damn well like and write my inner most secrets and dreams anywhere I can.

This is going to be the most delicious romance… with myself

The second part of our homework was to find or make something that will remind us to love ourselves, not able to resist drawing on my filofax any longer I did this

It’s a heart taped together which reminds me of the song Hands by Little boots, the lyrics to that have also gone in the RSL bible

“so whats a girl to do?

she went to the shop and bought some

sellotape and glue

and though she didnt think she was that clever

she fixed that heart of hers right back together”

AND

“I didn’t need any help, I just needed my hands”

Are you taking part? What does your bible say?

Just call me Alice Cullen *eye roll*

This afternoon I got my hair done by my Aunty Julie, she’s very very good

My face doesn’t look happy but trust me I love it. It’s purple and she styled it so it flicks out. The Bow is from a set of two by Claire’s and the butterfly scarf is from Primark. I guessed my Aunty and Mam would call me Alice as soon as they saw it properly and I was right. *sigh*

What’s on my noticeboard?

I’ve been inspired by Amy-Claire, (who was originally inspired by me!) to post my noticeboard. I love my noticeboard, it has absolutely everything that makes me smile there in one place.

So what exactly is on it I hear you ask?

  • Photo’s-
  1. Me and my Mammy dearest at my 18th
  2. Harry Judd of McFly from last April- when I was FOURTH ROW *ahem*
  3. Me and my Granda 4 Christmases ago
  4. My cousin Becca giving Santa a christmas kiss
  5. My nieces Lucy-Beth and Amy-Hope
  6. Me and Jodie when we were Knee high to a grasshopper
  • This image of Coco Chanel

  • A copy of a Dior design sketch from 1947
  • My “work rules”, which are totally followed everyday
  • A post it saying my life motto “It’s not how you leap, it’s how you land”
  • Ideas for my next BSB post and the rest of the schedule for Body Image Season
  • Sketches of my second and third tattoo ideas
  • The pendant from my “you’re toast” necklace
  • An Izzibag keyring
  • “An angel to help you follow your dreams” from my best friend
  • This years calendar (unlike Amy-Claire!)
  • And finally Jodie’s autograph and an Apple sticker

So do you have noticeboard or big wall space? What’s on yours?

Pale is the new tan

To be honest I never really read Heat magazine- just how much does one person need to know about Jordan of the cast of a teen drama? But this week I had to read the interview with Nicola Roberts from Girl aloud.

This week they interviewed her as she become the face of their new anti-sunbeds campaign- Dazzle Don’t Frazzle. The image above was created to show the affects sunbeds could have on a young person.

I’ve never liked sunbeds and I’m finally starting to love my pale skin, its unique and part of me right? I hate it when you see girls with a colour skin they obviously weren’t born with and will never understand the saying “I feel better with a tan”. Personally I think Nicola looks gorgeous pale skinned, not only because its natural though, she’s finally comfortable in her own body and skin which automatically exudes confidence and beauty.

My afternoon of mindless self indulgence

Taking a note from Gala’s guide  to Radical Self love, I decided to flount the partial shopping ban and embark on the great love affair.

I started off by doing something I’ve always wanted to do but never gotten round to it

I had a french maniure at a salon, it was so relaxing.

I also treated myself to a Peppermint mocha from Starbucks, because I couldn’t resist. Then of course I had to go shopping.

I got this gorgeous Teacup and saucer and golden spoon set from Accessorize

I found these cute cupcake note-cards in The Works, and even better they were buy one pack get another free!

Part of my RSL resolutions was to not worry about not straightening my hair as it looks lovely curly. But nonetheless I straightened it last night and left it as that today.

Don’t get me wrong, I like it straight but it just feels a bit flat and lifeless.

Today is a very good day, how are you?

Gala’s Radical Self Love Month

My love for Gala Darling has officially doubled, and it is all down to her Radical Self Love month. Basically this is loving who you are, your image and everything else about you for the whole of February, as I guess us singletons especially forget how amazing we are amidst the coupled up hell of Valentines day.

Topics in the month will include “Girl love, body image, masturbation, jealousy, honoring & respecting yourself, positive self-talk, being assertive, manifesting your own dream girl persona & self-marriage!” and we’ve been assured that there is optional homework so expect posts associated to it.

So to start off the month I’ve decided to:

  • not feel guilty about not straightening my hair- as it actually looks better wavy
  • not be swayed from my dreams of working in fashion
  • and continue to read and write fanfiction much like Amy-Claire as this indeed makes me a happy girl!

And the winners are…

Today is the day that I announce the winner of my Dreams come true giveaway with Diamond In The Sky, who’s excited?

So after much deliberation myself and my impartial judge Kerri (ie a friend who hadn’t entered) settled on our two winners

First Prize

The silver bow and Eiffel tower necklace goes to Sammi as her entry was just amazingly selfless and her charity work was very inspiring

My dream since i was 5 years old was to help people but it was until i was 16 and i went to work in a day centre for elderly that i realized what way i wanted to do it. it was there i met some amazing inspiring people, people who without even knowing it changed my life. i wanna work with people with mental health issues. In the day centre i worked with ladies and gents with dementia, parkinsons and other sorts. When i think of this i get so excited that helping people is my future :) my granpa who i was always so close to was diagnosed with parkinsons last year and since then i have raised over £3000 doing allsorts and i hope to continue this doing different things for different charities.

Second Prize

The winner of the Alice in wonderland “drink me” and “imagine” necklace is Danielle Clarke as her dream made us both go “awww” I wish her the best of luck with her dream

I have a dream, which is only realised when no one else is around…I like to sing, and I can sing, I just don’t have the confidence to go out there and sing in front of people..so my dream would be to have the confidence to sing to people…. x

Thank you so much to everyone that took part, all your dreams were amazing
